It is a good point that you make about reading "Getting through your reading more quickly frees up time for other priorities" I would extend it to other tasks do. The faster you complete your tasks the more time you will have for other activities, i.e more time for leisure. Sadly, most of us will try to fill the time gained by increasing their productivity with more work. But more work makes us more tired and in the end it will be more difficult to concentrate due to fatigue.

Better concentration leads to incresad productivity, but in order to keep that productivity we should limit our working hours.
